Our Commitment
Peter Rowland Catering places a very high priority on issues relating to the maintenance and care of the environment. We currently have in place an environmental management policy and have document procedures relating to environmental management.
As a leading catering company, it is vital that we provide clients with the best seasonal produce that has minimal impact on the environment.
This is done through establishing excellent relationships with local Victorian suppliers to ensure our clients receive the best local produce wherever possible across our entire menu portfolio. This assists in reducing our carbon footprint and reducing the 'travel miles' for our suppliers.
- We regularly seek suppliers who are able to prove that their farming and harvesting processes are sustainable in the long term and can exhibit a minimal impact on the environment.
- Organic produce is sourced when possible from our fruit and vegetable partner, Melba Fresh.
- All of our meat is 100% Australian.
- All of our seafood is 100% Australian.
We also have a number of internal policies and procedures in place relating to waste and water management, energy management, food and beverage production and food safety and kitchen maintenance. This ensures we seek continuous improvement in all of our environmental practices.
Industry Recognition

In 2008, an independent audit was conducted by Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCVB) to identify green initiatives undertaken by various Melbourne government bodies and suppliers to the event industry.
Peter Rowland Catering was invited to submit its environmental sustainability vision and became the inaugural (and only) caterer to feature in the first 'MCVB Green Credentials' listing.
For the third year in a row we have achieved the Green Credentials listing under the category 'Food and Wine' in addition to two of our exclusive venues, National Gallery of Victoria and Melbourne Museum.
