The Australian Events Centre revealed

Melbourne’s newest event destination has opened its doors for the first time, unveiling a 1700 sqm centre in the city’s north-west that’s become the talk of the event industry.

The Australian Events Centre – managed by Peter Rowland Catering – is the first phase of a $60 million infrastructure investment in business events at the new Essendon Fields complex.

“Whether it’s an exhibition, conference or dinner – The Australian Events Centre is such a versatile space, you can do almost anything,” says one of the country’s leading event organisers, Peter Jones of Peter Jones Special Events.

Demand for a dedicated event destination in Melbourne’s north has already seen early bookings for The Australian Events Centre’s variety of function spaces that can cater for 1300+guests.

Event industry experts are also predicting this dedicated venue will change the face of business events in the growing metropolitan area of Melbourne’s inner north.

“The addition of Peter Rowland Catering and The Australian Events Centre to Melbourne’s north is bringing a level of service and quality that wasn’t ever available to clients operating their business or holding a social event in this area of the city – it will create a strong synergy between business and events in the northern corridor,” adds Michael Davey, Creative Director of Evoke.

With The Australian Events Centre now open, events, showcases, exhibitions and celebrations will become a fixture in this part of the city.

“Bookings are already flooding in for exhibitions and corporate events, car launches, graduation ceremonies, networking lunches – and also weddings,” says Peter Rowland Catering CEO, John Isherwood.

Peter Rowland Catering are managing the major event hub that will also include a bar and dining complex plus Australia’s first Hyatt Place hotel (set to open second quarter of 2017), bringing our expertise for innovative management to clients seeking large-scale event venues and endless incentive ideas.

“The response to date from the meeting and event industry has been very positive, with organisers relishing the flexible, column free event space, large pre-function areas, outdoor pavilions and the incentive options the Centre naturally provides,” adds John.

Diverse incentive opportunities are an added bonus of The Australian Events Centre’s location – part of a delegates’ event experience can include taking off to regional, remote or exotic locales thanks to the onsite tourism operators at Essendon Fields.
