PMYC – Cerise & Matt

We are always excited when one of our own gets married and Peter Rowland’s IT manager, Matt and his gorgeous partner, Cerise, were no different.

Cerise and Matt had been dating six years when Matt popped the question, and it turns out he is somewhat of a closet romantic. Matt had planned for Cerise to have dinner with her mum, but upon her arrival she realised that it was all a clever rouse and was quickly sent home. Cerise said “I arrived back at my apartment and the place was covered in rose petals, candles and framed photos of Matthew and I. A candlelit pathway led out to my balcony where Matthew was standing, once I came outside he proceeded to get down on one knee and propose. It was personal, heartfelt and perfect.”

When it came to choosing their wedding venue, Port Melbourne Yacht Club was the clear choice for Cerise who had always dreamed of a fairytale wedding with a twist. Cerise had a very clear vision for her stunning seaside affair which was based around the floor to ceiling windows of the Yacht Club whilst incorporating plenty of white to keep things fresh and contemporary.

The ceremony was a close personal affair with Cerise walking down the aisle to her twin sister singing “Even When You’re Sleeping” by Leonardo’s Bride whilst her uncle played the guitar. Matt was visibly moved as the woman of his dreams walked towards him to start the rest of their lives together.

Upon entering the reception it was obvious how much care Cerise and her mum had taken in styling the venue. There was an abundance of elegant white flowers and and foliage running the length of the banquet tables and personal touches everywhere you looked. Cerise even had photo books of her and Matt’s childhoods as well their time together which were placed around the room for guests to peruse.

As the music began to play for the newly-weds first dance Cerise delighted everyone with a wardrobe change from her champagne coloured, romantic ball gown to a crisp white, lace peplum gown. “It was a huge surprise to Matt and our guests when I came out for our wedding dance in a different dress”.

Cerise’s younger sister is a ballroom dance instructor and choreographed their wedding dance which they’d been practising for a few months prior. “To finally show the dance to family and friends was both scary and rewarding! It was so much fun performing with my husband for our loved ones”.

We were so happy to be involved in creating such a memorable day for this gorgeous couple and are so pleased they loved every part of their big day.
