Historic Rippon Lea Estate provides the perfect backdrop for a dream wedding shoot.
We recently collaborated with wedding stationery supplier Giant Invitations for a wonderfully romantic shoot at one of our favourite Peter Rowland event venues, the stunning Rippon Lea Estate in Melbourne’s inner south-east.
Full of history, this majestic Victorian-era mansion is one of Australia’s most well preserved grand suburban estates, making it a truly unique setting for special events. Indeed, as the results of our photoshoot prove, Rippon Lea’s striking Victorian architecture and ageless old-world charm are the perfect backdrop for a romantic, vintage-style wedding.
Featuring a grand chandeliered ballroom, sweeping lawns and a sunny art deco pool terrace that delivers a touch of 1930s Hollywood glamour, the heritage-listed 1868-built property has established itself as one of Melbourne’s most iconic locations for romantic weddings and special occasions.
Originally built as a private residence for businessman-turned-politician, Frederick Sargood, Rippon Lea Estate is now considered one of the country’s most important examples of high Victorian architecture and casts an instant spell with its stunning heritage interiors, picturesque lake and beautifully maintained grounds.
