Wedding of the Month – PMYC – Penny & Chris

American born Chris was in Melbourne on business helping with the opening of Crown’s renowned Nobu restaurant. It was here he met his future bride, Penny, who was also working at Crown whilst studying and, as Penny, says “…Guess the rest is history”. Nine years on and both happily living in Dallas, Texas, Chris returned to Melbourne to visit Penny who was back in Australia to complete more studies. During a casual afternoon stroll Chris kept complaining how sore his knee was, which Penny thought very little of, until she turned around to find her man down on one knee ready and waiting to pop the question.

The pair quickly decided to do the seemingly impossible and plan a stress free, international wedding. The first thing on their agenda was to hunt for a Melbourne wedding venue, and with the couple’s only stipulation that the venue be by the water, Penny began the search. When she came across Port Melbourne Yacht Club she knew it was exactly what they had been looking for and almost immediately following she fell in love with Gardens House for their ceremony. The couple’s dream of a stress-free wedding was all falling into place.

As Penny walked down the aisle, a vision in white against the lush green backdrop of the gardens, it was clear just how enamoured Chris was with his breathtaking bride. The couple exchanged their own vows, in the dappled summer sunshine before saying their “I do’s” and heading off around the gardens for their photos.

After indulging in some sparkling and canapés on the deck at Port Melbourne Yacht Club, the guests headed inside to greet the bridal party and the newly weds. The rest of the evening was as relaxed as they had both hoped for. From the couple’s first dance to start the celebrations off to memorable speeches, held whilst the guests feasted on huge servings of shared dishes, the entire night was an intimate and relaxed dream come true.

We are so delighted that we could make Penny and Chris’ stunning wedding the stress-free affair they had hoped for.
